In our previous editions of Lighthouse focusing on Norfolk, Lancashire, Cheshire , Merseyside and North Yorkshire some interesting patterns and trends are beginning to emerge. Violence and Sexual Offences has been at the top of all the locations for the highest number reported crimes. Anti-Social Behaviour, Criminal Damage and Arson, as well as Public Order Offences are the categories that are appearing frequently in the top 3 positions.
In this edition of Lighthouse our StrongGuard Security UK Crime Analysis Team will take a closer look at the latest report for the Derbyshire region over a 2 year period and see how this region compares to others.
Our team have researched and analysed the data to see what patterns and trends emerge for crimes reported between February 2021 and January 2023 to see how they compare to those reported for the same period the following year up to January 2023.
We have collated and presented this information to communicate the Derbyshire crime trends and patterns to provide guidance and support for local communities in their battle against crime.
Our dedicated StrongGuard Security UK Crime Analysis Team, research, analyse, compile, and present the UK crime data across all the regions that matter to you.
Some really postive reporting here in the 6th edition of Lighthouse. Our Crime Stats Research and Analysis team are pleased to share with you that reported crimes of an Anti-Social nature have dropped by 27%. This is a really positive change for the region.
In addtion to this, only 4 out of the 12 reported crime categories showing a decrease. It makes for good reading when we can start our Lighthouse reports on positives like this.
Overall 7 categories out of the 12 showed reductions. 1 showed no change. This leaves Theft, Vehicle Crime, Shoplifting and Robbery showing increases in reports of crime in Derbyshire.
Once again reports of Theft showed the highest increase of any reported crime in the region with an increased of 13%. To add to this, Shoplifting and Robbery, like in the other regions we have reported on, are once again showing increases in crimes of this nature.
If you are running a business in Derbyshire where you are at risk of Theft, Shoplifting and Robbery, then these increases are a concern for sure.
Having now published 5 editions of our Lighthouse Crime Stats reports, there are patterns and trends emerging that appear in all regions across the UK. We reported in the last edition of lighthouse that the category with the highest number of crimes reported in both 2021 and 2022 was Violence and Sexual Offences. This has proven once again in Derbyshire to be the category with the highest number of reported crimes.
The big positive for this region though is the fact that ony 3 out of the 12 categories showed any increases. It will be interesting to see whether other locations will see the same positives as Derbyshire or if they will continue with the same pattern seen elsewhere in the UK.
